Computers should work for humans, and not the other way around. With that in mind, and determined to never again traverse the maze of right-clicking and menus required to make a new folder in Windows, I began the program that would become HotKey. Today, it is a customizable utility that places the workload of many common tasks on the computer. This saves people time and frustration, and allows them to set up their computers how they want to. Specifically, HotKey provides a number of functions that perform various tasks in window management, folder and file creation, directory navigation, clipboard management, web browsing, and more. Each function can be attached to any key combination of your choice (a "hotkey"), and called up instantly whenever HotKey is running.

HotKey is "beggarware". This means that you do not need to pay a fee for a license to use HotKey (so in a sense, it is "free"). However, if you find that you use the program frequently, we ask that you consider making a donation (with government and commercial users being strongly encouraged). The suggested donation is US $15 per copy, but you can donate any amount you see fit. Please bear in mind when making your decision that a significant amount of time and effort went into not only creating this software, but into testing, improving, and documenting it so that other people could use it.
